The Fashion Costume Ball!

Hello Purple Room Families,

We started decorating the classroom for our Ball Party since decorations were the first thing on our to-do list. Parents helped out with the effort too. We used streamers to make the middle stage, flowers to put everywhere, candles all around the classroom to create the ambiance, and lights.

The princesses worked together to help set up the cupcake table elegantly...



While the others were checking to see if their swords and shields were present at the table...



Our dance started at 10:00 sharp and all our invited guests started coming one by one..



We danced on slow music, waltzes, and others, and had so much fun...

Everybody enjoying dancing under and around the disco ball and the strobe lights..



At the same time the carriage was operating since many more people were coming in the carriage to the Ball party...the royal horse riders were always ready to give the royal passengers a ride...



Children waved as the carriage drove off...



After all the dance and carriage traveling, we gave ourselves and our guests a cupcake snack...



Later we set out on a parade to protect our castle with our wands, and swords, and shields proudly raised high...






The parade was a great success and such a feeling of pride, strength, protection, and togetherness...



We had great moments of walking on the royal carpet to the carriage...

And last but not the least enjoying our lunch party!



This was not it...the next day we again had a ball party for our friends who couldn't make it the day before. With all the decorations still up and the excitement still within, this party was no less than the first...children danced, ate cupcakes, and paraded in the class...

Royal ball prep, Scrapbook, and Earth day!

Hello Purple Room Families,

Our Royal Ball was approaching and we had to work hard since now we had a deadline. Our friends wanted to invite the entire school and so we worked on a formal invitation card and personally went over to invite each classroom.

At the same time, we were busy putting our carriage together...

Adding chairs to sit and a trunk with seating and storage...

Tada..now our magical carriage was ready to go..

Our dance practice for the ball party continued with full excitement. Each one of them was getting better with their dance postures and steps...




Scrapbooking...

Thank you to all the families for taking out time together to create these amazing scrapbook pages. Yes, children always want to know about their friends' families and pets and the fun stuff they do. This project is the best compilation and we are going to treasure it forever. Children and parents have been so involved in reading and looking at each friend's page, both from Purple Room as well as Blue Room. This week each child got to talk about their page as to how they made it, what they put in it, describing their family, culture and tradition to their other friends.









it was great to learn about different families and what they like to do together, which helped us know our friends better!

Earth Day...

We put together the planet Earth food snack using rice cakes, blue cream cheese and green grapes..

N spreading the water on his planet earth...



K adding her land areas...



We also made two color play-dough and made our own 3 dimensional Earths with the concept of shape, land and water in mind...

S first made a blue planet and then added her green land...



D mixed both blue and green and then rolled it into the shape of a ball...



We also spoke about saving paper and water, recycling materials and other ways to keep our planet beautiful and safe for everyone to live and enjoy!!!

Dancing and spirit week...

Hello Purple Room Families,

Last week we wisely realized that our brainstormed list for our royal ball was too big to be accomplished within a week (since children wanted the dance party earlier). So we readjusted our plans. We spoke about these real life skills that when we feel a plan does not work out, it's always ok to switch to a different plan and be adaptive and flexible! With this said, our list narrowed down to a realistic goal that we truly thought we would be able to achieve and our prep continued accordingly.

This week we learned how to dance at a Ball...

We read the book 'Giraffes Can't Dance' which showed us different solo and duet styles of dancing, and as each page was turned, we practiced a new step that was shown in the book.

Friends volunteered to show the moves they learned so far...









We later did a duet dance choosing our dance partners and pretending we were in the ballroom :)

Girls were very excited to show symmetrical gymnastic moves!




Spirit Week...
All the children showed great spirit this week and participated in celebrating each day with fun and enthusiasm. We had hat and tie day, crazy hair day, Disney/ superhero day, twin day, and swim suit/ water day.

This week we also had to catch up on a lot of stuff with children who had missed a few projects. Additionally, with Mother's Day coming up, there are a few surprises in store.

Children working to make a special present for mommies...sorry can't disclose more than this ;) ...it's a surprise after all :) :) :))



Moreover, we are preparing for the upcoming graduation.
Again this one is a surprise, so can't say much about it..:)



I should confess, our children are great multitaskers thriving with so many projects in hand, yet doing amazingly with each one of them. Their patience, virtue, and grace are commendable and developing. They have learned to better be able to work in groups, wait for instructions if needed, and work to their full potential. It's hard to put in words of how proud we are of them!
