Last week as per their interest we added few more ornaments on our very own tree!

Candy Canes...

Crystals...

Ping Pong balls...

and hung all of those up ...

It was finally time to get the mail ready to post...

We first went to the office and put out a notification to let mail carrier know we have mail to be picked up!

Next we finished by sticking the stamps, making our own Blue Box, and posting the mails respectively...

Putting Stamps was so exciting since they knew it was the last step...

Posting! Everyone had one question, "How is the mail person going to deliver so many letters" :-)

Finally, the mail person came later in the afternoon and some of our friends got a chance to hand over the mail to him.

I hope all of you had a fun time reading the letters you received. It holds a lot of love and sentiments from our kiddos!

Also I would like to thank A's family and D's family for leaving the 'Thank you' cards in the kids personal mailboxes. They were soooo happy and excited to receive those and came running to me so that I could quickly read them the message!

Letter 'C...
'For letter C we made collages (circle, c stamps, construction vehicles, cars, cotton balls, colors, chalk, crayons).

Last, but not the least a big thank you to all the parents for participating and encouraging our preschoolers by being a part of the Annual Holiday Performance.

I appreciate that we were able to start on time and thanks for all the positive feedback I got from you. i can proudly say that children were co-operative and put in a lot of effort right from the beginning - choosing songs, practicing, making bells, and making their T-shirts and the 'happy holidays' banner. All that paid off with your presence and cheers! It was a great way to spend our last week of 2013 with all of you. Creative minds has accomplished performers, Hats off to them! I am so proud of them.

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! See you all soon.

Warmly,
Rashida.

Christmas Tree Decorations, Winter fun, and letter 'W'

Christmas Tree discussions and decorations have been running in our classroom like wild fire. We have made various ornaments and have hung them on our loved tree (stars, foam balls, sparkling spaghetti, etc.) We are so proud of our own tree - starting with finding the tree to decking it up!

For the foam balls, we worked two by two like a team. It was remarkable to see them work in collaboration and figure out ways to fill the ball :-) practicing fine motor skills, for example, holding it, turning it, poking pipe cleaners was all done very carefully, especially keeping in mind that they are working two by two. Yippie and thumbs up for my kiddos!

Hanging them...

We have also been reading many books on Christmas and talking about the different things we see during the December holiday (Winter) month. This inspired us to make a 'W'inter Scenery' which now sits on our purple wall!

For letter 'W', we made collages using cutouts of wagons, worms, and winter.

On Friday, Purple room and Blue room friends decided to combine. Teacher Kristina shared about her favorite sport and had also bought her snowboard and other related accessories for show and tell. Our friends got a chance to try them and pretend to go snowboarding! Thank you teacher Kristina for this share!

Later we made 'W'affles and inhaled them outdoors ;-)

It was a busy week and still our friends have tons of decoration ideas in their minds. We will try our best to fit the most!

I hope to see you all on Friday, at 3:30 pm for our holiday performance!

Warmly,
Rashida.
